Dear Mom,

Cathy and Dub left yesterday after a fun filled five day vacation with Chap and I here in Philadelphia!

We took a couple days vacation away from Philly and stayed at the Mohonk Mountain House in NY. It is a throwback to another era. The Mohonk Mountain House is a sprawling Victorian castle, a 265-room National Historic Landmark resort hotel in the Hudson River Valley, with a 140-year history, 90 miles north of Manhattan. It is the only year-round US resort owned and operated by the same family throughout its long history!!!!

Chap and I snow shoed for our first time, and we hiked up sky top trail to Mohonk tower.

On Tuesday we drove into Manhattan and went to the America's Natural Science and History Museum where by fate and a text message we found out our good friends Kelly and Matthew from Philly (my quilt class was taught at their house) were in Manhattan too and we meet them at the museum and walked and talked with them for a couple of hours!!! Then we went down to the Sea Port and into Sherry's new restaurant Cowgirl SeaHorse! Sherry is Cathy's greatest old friend, they have know each other since they were nine years old!  Sherry has lived in New York City for 30 years and has two restaurants "Cowgirls" and "Cowgirl Sea-Horse".  I LOVE the decor sooo sooo much! It's right up my alley...vintage western cowboy/girl meets tattooed sailor who eats southern comfort seafood togeather. Sherry and Cathy meet in Texas.

The photo's above are taken off the internet, none of them I took and I couldn't locate the photographer's names to credit I will gladly add them, if they could be sourced.
